How to choose the right size
If you’re going to be wearing hiking socks, it’s best to choose a pair of boots one size larger than your usual size to give your toes some room. Try on the boots at the end of the day, when feet are slightly more swollen.
What is a SnowContact sole?
Our snow hiking soles go through a series of tests conducted in France at one of our independent laboratories. Our goal? To measure the soles’ grip on ice. Non-slip rubber and an optimized 3D design ensure excellent grip in the lab and on the snow.
Protection in the snow
For added comfort and warmth, consider accessories like insulated insoles or waterproof gaiters. They offer better temperature regulation and prevent snow from getting in.
Why choose leather boots?
Leather is ultra-comfortable, durable, and flexible. It is waterproof, breathable, and naturally thermoregulating. It keeps you warm in winter and cool mid-season. Care for your boots by gently brushing them regularly to help them last as long as possible.
Water-repellent or waterproof?
Water-repellency means water slides over the surface without penetrating: this is an effective first barrier against dampness. The waterproofing properties fully prevent any water from entering, by means of a membrane. Together, they keep your feet drier for longer.
What type of waterproofing?
Our laboratory tests guarantee one-star waterproofing capacity: your feet remain dry for more than a 1.5-hour walk in snow or wet terrain. Ideal for winter hikes.
What kind of membrane?
This boot features a waterproof, breathable membrane between the lining and the outer fabric. It acts as a filter: water can’t get in, but water vapour can escape.
How can I maintain the waterproofing?
With extended wear, the water-repellent treatment can start to fade. To reactivate it: clean your boots and go over them with a hair dryer or a suitable re-waterproofing spray.
What about breathability?
Because feet kept dry are also feet that sweat, the inner foot lining helps to wick away moisture. This prevents the feeling of cold from perspiration.
How to wear your boots
To stay warm, follow the three-layer rule: a breathable sock, a warm layer (terrycloth sock for example), and waterproof or windproof pants. That’s all you need when heading out for a hike, even in the snow!
How to clean your boots
Clean with lukewarm water, a soft brush, and mild soap. Do not machine-wash. Air dry away from direct heat sources to avoid affecting the leather or the membrane.
