What size should I choose?
Try several sizes and models to find the right boot for you. You can also choose one size above your usual size for greater comfort downhill. Opt for sports socks suitable for hiking to avoid overheating.
How is grip tested?
3D Digital simulation: We simulate the grip ability of the 3D soles to assess their performance on various terrains. Lab tests: the shoes then undergo grip tests on a variety of surfaces in the laboratory to guarantee their reliability.
What is the foot support like?
Precise, effective lacing guarantees good foot support. The loops at the collar keeps the heel perfectly positioned in the boot. This provides stable, secure support at every step.
What do these shoes weigh?
360 g (12.7 oz) per boot in size 9.5. These shoes are lightweight while offering protection.
How do we test waterproofing?
Our shoes undergo an intensive test in the lab to guarantee their waterproofing properties. They are immersed in water up to a certain level, replicating real-life hiking conditions. This test ensures that your feet stay dry, even in wet or rainy conditions.
How often and how intensely can you hike?
Three levels of use: Occasional: 10 hikes per year, 3–4 hours, <10 km, 700 m elevation gain. Regular: 20 hikes per year, 4–6 hours, 10–20 km, 700–1,200 m elevation gain. Intensive: >20 hikes per year, >6 hours, >20 km, up to 2,000 m elevation gain. The MH 500 shoes are suitable for regular use.
How to prevent blisters
To prevent blisters, choose well-fitting shoes, wear suitable socks, and adjust the laces properly before climbs and descents. Start with short walks to break in your new pair.
How to choose the right socks
For comfortable hikes, choose socks with merino wool or synthetic yarn for better breathability and to prevent blisters. Choose a thickness that suits the season and terrain, and make sure your shoes fit snugly over the top, without any creases.
How to care for your shoes
Air dry. Leave them to dry naturally. Clean off any mud: Remove dry mud with a stiff brush. Treat any stains: Brush with warm water. Drying: Make sure they are completely dry. Restore the waterproof properties: Spray with a solution to restore water repellency.
