What is the difference between the EL 520 and EL 540 elliptical trainers?
We designed the EL 540 elliptical trainer with a 9 kg (20 lb) flywheel (versus 6 kg/13 lb) on the EL 520 elliptical trainer, ref. 8738937) to give you optimal fluidity, even at high intensity and a high resistance level. The EL 540 has 24 different programs (versus 7 for the EL 520) available on the console to keep you motivated! Options that will change your life: resistance adjustment buttons directly on the handlebars and mobile arm lockout (child safety).
No need for a socket! The EL 540 elliptical trainer is self-powered!
We got the idea of a self-powered elliptical trainer by listening to our athletes. The EL 540 elliptical trainer was the first elliptical trainer that we developed with this technology, and we’re really proud of it. It makes thousands of people happy!
Stride length: 39 cm (15”).
Elliptical trainers work all of your muscle groups (lower and upper limbs, torso, back, and core). The broader your movements, the more these muscles work and the greater your cardio intensity. The resistance level you choose also affects your workout. The EL 540 has a 39 cm (15”) stride length, making it one of the most comfortable and efficient models in our range!
9 kg (20 lb) flywheel
At Decathlon, we want to give our customers and users clear, reliable information. When it comes to elliptical trainers, lots of companies talk about inertia, the flywheel, or the moment of inertia, which makes it hard to compare products. We’ve chosen to give the actual weight of the flywheel, which has a greater effect on kinetic energy and therefore on how smooth the elliptical trainer feels. The EL 540’s flywheel weighs 9 kg (20 lb). That’s right!

The EL 540 elliptical trainer helps guide you through your workouts by displaying 6 functions: time, distance, speed, calories, heart rate (with Hand Pulse sensors), and cadence. It also has 24 built-in training programs categorized by fitness level:
Connect to the E Connected and Kinomap apps
Get motivated, reach your goals, or just have fun by connecting your device to the compatible E Connected and Kinomap apps. With E Connected, you can set a weekly time, distance, or calorie goal: your performance is recorded and you can track your stats. With Kinomap, you bike with videos of real scenery that are perfectly synchronized to your device. At your own pace or in challenge mode, alone or with the Kinomap community, you get a truly unique experience.
Maintenance and repairs
Decathlon and Domyos pay close attention to what happens to our products after they leave our stores. We manage our after-sales service ourselves and we guarantee that spare parts will be available for 10 years so that your product will last as long as possible! This product comes with a 2-year warranty for parts and labour and a 5-year warranty for the metal structure.
