Before you set off
There are a few things to check before you use your bike for the first time :
- check that the hinges on the frame and stem are correctly locked in place
- check that the gears and brakes are working properly
- make sure there is no unusual play in the stem and frame
- make sure the tyres are inflated to the right pressure

Cleaning your bike
If the bike is covered in dust, use a dry cloth to clean it. For dirt that’s harder to get rid of, clean the frame, forks, handlebars and wheels with hot water, a sponge and some bike wash. When you’ve finished, wipe it down with a dry cloth to prevent rust. After cleaning, we recommend lubricating the chain, hinges and other moving parts.
We strongly advise that you do not use a pressure washer to clean the bike. It may damage the function of its components, which can put the rider in danger.
