When swimming in open water, you are strongly advised to use a buoy so that boats and rescue services can find you easily. The buoy can also be used to rest when the swimmer is tired or has a cramp.

When you’re in the water, more than half your body heat is lost through your extremities (feet, hands, head). To stay warm, consider these accessories:

The first factor to consider when choosing a surf bootie is water temperature. Water temperature varies depending on the location and time of year. Keep these guidelines in mind: Water above 20°C. Choosing the right boots

Surfing socks should be a very tight fit to ensure the best possible thermal efficiency. Dry gloves should feel like they are too tight when you try them on. Choosing well-fitting socks ensures a better fit and prevents them swelling with water in use.

The 3 mm surf socks are made of neoprene.
The synthetic lining provides added wear resistance.
Neoprene thickness: 3 mm.
The neoprene is made of an elastomer foam with insulating properties.
We test and guarantee the quality of our neoprene materials.

Materials

We chose a thin and light polyurethane sole to favour contact and sensations with the board. Therefore, this sock is not suited to long approach walks: in such a case, choose the 3 mm Surf bootie.

Thin sole

The seams are stitched and glued to ensure a watertight seal. 
Blind-stitching technology means the thread does not pierce through the neoprene, ensuring watertightness. The lack of threads on the inside prevents irritation and chafing. Patches are strategically placed in sensitive areas to improve comfort and durability.

Watertight assembly

Our surf booties are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, sea wading or SUP (stand up paddle boarding). These surf socks, however, are not suitable for windsurfing.

- place your belongings at the bottom of the buoy, centring them if possible,
- close the two buckles, making sure that the air between the two chambers escapes to avoid water entering when you swim,
- inflate the 2 chambers to the same psi, by mouth.

Fogging is mainly due to the temperature difference between the body and the water.
As the body is warmer than the practice environment, fogging occurs on the inside of the lenses through evaporation.
As a result, every micro-drop of perspiration will stick to the inside of the goggles.

In fact, it’s a bit of luck: all these drops will eventually combine to create a film of water through which you can see clearly.

Why do my swimming goggles fog up?

The anti-fog treatment creates a microscopic film of water to allow clear vision, but its wear is accelerated by rubbing inside the lenses or over-exposure to chlorinated water. Taking care of the inside of your glasses is essential.

Over time, it is normal for the anti-fog effect to diminish. Briefly soaking the glasses in water may help in the short term, but can also accelerate the wear of the treatment. Our anti-fog marker reactivates the treatment!

The anti-fog treatment

The watertightness of the glasses depends on the fit of the silicone skirts to the shape of the face. 
Before buying your glasses, we recommend that you carry out the "suction cup" test without the elastic band. Position the goggles over your eyes; if they hold on by themselves with a little suction, they will be watertight once in the water. This test can also identify areas of discomfort or annoyance on the face.

Size: how to choose your swimming goggles

These swimming goggles fit the morphology of your face without needing to be overly adjusted.

Goggles that are too tight can cause discomfort, leave marks, and let water seep in.

It is not necessary to press against the lenses with your hands, a light suction effect is usually enough for swimming sessions without water inlet holes.

The straps should sit 2-3 cm above your ears. This position will optimize the grip and comfort of the goggles. 

How to adjust your swimming goggles

The colour of your lenses should suit your swimming location and its lighting.

If you swim outdoors or in a pool with harsh lighting, choose goggles with smoked lenses to limit glare. 

If you’re outdoors in the evening or the pool is dark, use clear lenses.
