All of our UV-resistant T-shirts are UPF 50+, i.e. they have the maximum level of sun protection. Choose your sleeve length based on your activity. Our line was primarily designed to meet surfers’ demanding needs. 
Choose your T-shirt based on the duration of your surf session: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.

How to choose your rash guard (Part 1)

1 hour: Occasional practice. Choose either a loose fit (easy to put on, comfortable when dry) or a tight fit (comfortable when wet). Look for a loop system so you can fasten the rash guard to your shorts.
2 hours: Regular practice. A rash guard with a drawstring and seamless underarm panels will improve fit and comfort in the water.
3 hours: Intensive practice. A style with added warmth will let you stay out longer.

How to choose a UV protection T-shirt (Part 2: )

This product blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays (UPF 50+), guaranteeing effective protection from the sun. Ideal for water sports, it can be worn in or out of the water. 
The density of the textile fibres filters out UV rays for long-lasting protection, even after washing.The elastane may deteriorate in chlorinated water.

UV protection

UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is an international standard that measures  the proportion of UV rays a fabric lets through to your skin.
A UPF of 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays.

What does UPF 50+ mean?

This UV-resistant T-shirt limits rubbing and chafing against surfboards and bodyboards. Wear it under a wetsuit to limit rubbing, especially around the neck and armpits. Seamless panels under the arms reduce irritation caused by paddling movements. Our test protocols confirm that chafing is significantly reduced for up to 2 hours.

This Olaian UV-protection top 900 has a drawstring around the waist in addition to silicone strips on the hips. This system enables the top to be tightened and keeps it in place for better stability and hold in the waves, especially during duck dives or falls. The cuffs also feature a system for a secure hold to prevent the sleeves from being pushed up. The drawstring on the boardshorts runs through the top to prevent it from being lifted up.

Support and stability in waves

This T-shirt is recommended for use in water temperatures of 22°C and up. Air temperature may affect this recommendation. Our thermal models are made of either fleece, neoprene, or both. We recommend thermal leggings in conditions where the wind exceeds 15 km/h.

Warmth and wind

Our UV T-shirts meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. They’re compatible with many other water sports, including swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding.

Suitable for multiple water sports

This top is UV-resistant, but it doesn’t provide total sun protection. Consider other factors like reflections (off water, sand, etc.), temperature, and time of day. Wearing this top is just one part of staying safe in the sun. You should also wear sunglasses and a hat or cap, apply sunscreen regularly, and drink plenty of water.
