What is the cut and size of this polo shirt?

We increased the MW 500 polo shirt’s fabric weight up to 235 g/m2. That’s 24% more than the model that it’s replacing. This means it will keep its shape and last for a very long time.

What is the main material of this polo shirt?

We put the MW 500 polo shirt through the machine 100 times. Every 10 washes, we measured 3 things:
- Overall deterioration of the polo shirt’s appearance: fabric, stitching, etc.
- Size stability: i.e. shrinkage wash after wash
- Colour variation

As a result, the new MW 500 polo shirt is 30% more resistant than its predecessor!

How was washing fastness tested?

It’s all in the details:
- two pearlescent white buttons 11 mm 4 holes engraved with Inesis
- reinforced topstitching at the corner of the button strip 
- slits on the side, cuffs at the bottom of the sleeves
- low hem and sleeves with double topstitching
- bias cut, tone on tone interior neckline
- discreet Decathlon Inesis branding inside the neckline

What are the product details?

Here are a few tips to make your MW 500 Golf Polo Shirt last longer:
- machine-wash at 30°C inside out and with similar colours.
- use liquid laundry detergent, as powder detergents can leave streaks on dark clothing

Designed around a liner with a waterproof membrane. It goes all around the shoe. We have also taken a lot of care with the details: for example, a “gutter” that links up the upper and the tongue so that water doesn’t get inside the shoe.

The MW 500 has been made waterproof by its construction rather than by artificial processes. So it will be waterproof for its entire lifespan and not just for the first few uses.

When you know the importance of good footing in golf, designing a good sole is essential for offering golfers the best connection with the ground.

This shoe brings together grip, comfort, and strength. In mild weather, the ground could be dry or wet. So the engineers have developed a 3-part sole:

The rubber part resists wet.
The TPU part provides excellent grip on soft ground.
The EVA midsole ensures exceptional comfort when walking.

A 3-part sole

Sophie, shoe product engineer, has worked with the Sportslab teams. They outlined the study that was to be implemented to specify, firstly, the pressure areas by level of intensity, and secondly, the direction of these stresses during a golf swing, for both the left and right foot.

Driven by swing constraints

So we have designed an asymmetric sole, where each spike has a specific role: in length, width, and height, no two are alike! They are also spread out across the sole’s surface to match the zones that receive the most pressure when walking or swinging. Working on the spikes helps to guarantee excellent grip while limiting wear.

The exterior sole is also perforated to give flexibility and save weight.

Down to the smallest detail

The Inesis MW 500 shoes are extremely comfortable. As we have seen, this comes from the flexibility and suppleness of the rubber outer sole, but also the cushioning of the EVA foam midsole. It is a component widely found in running shoes. It benefits from all the expertise of the running and trail brands at Decathlon, who developed exclusive EVA formulas.

As they were given a blank slate to design the Inesis Grip Waterproof, Erik and Tanguy drew on the design of the previous version when designing the upper of the Inesis MW 500.

The idea was to keep the identity codes for the Inesis Grip Waterproof while making the lines more dynamic and making it more comfortable to use. The forefoot is now made in one part to make it more supple. Then there’s everything that you don’t see.

A more dynamic upper

Having testers all across France and starting testing in the middle of winter let us push the MW 500 to its limits by making it face more restricting conditions that what it was designed for. The MW 500 also encountered a wide variety of courses and terrain: mud, sand, rain, dry terrain, etc. A truly versatile golf shoe in all conditions!

The BL 500 ski base layer has a standard straight cut that adapts to all body shapes. It’s not too loose, so it keeps in the heat effectively.

During the warranty period, solutions may be offered to you in-store. However, if we can’t repair your product (production defect), we will exchange it or reimburse you.

How to dress to stay warm on the slopes

Polyester is the most commonly-used fibre for base garments because it is relatively inexpensive and offers excellent performance in various respects, and especially because the fibres can be knitted to obtain a very lightweight and durable fabric. It actively absorbs moisture but does not dry particularly well when wet.
