We selected an insulating lining and filling to keep your kids' feet nice and warm like fur-lined boots.
These warm boots have been tested in an external laboratory according to a thermal resistance protocol compared to other Decathlon baby boots.

How can I be sure that my child’s feet will stay warm?

The boot’s vamp (low, thermoplastic part) is snowproof. To make the entire boot waterproof, pull the bottom of the snowsuit or ski pants over the top of the boot. A hook under the sole helps you to position the elastic gaiter on the pants or snowsuit to provide a good seal and keep the snow out.

How can I be sure that my child’s feet will stay dry in the snow?

These boots were designed to fit a child wearing thick ski socks without compressing the foot and therefore encouraging thermal protection.

How to choose the right size

These winter boots have been specially designed so that they are extremely easy to put on your child. 
The uppers in sizes 3C/3.5C and 4.5C/5C are open on both sides and can be fully turned back to provide a wide opening for your child’s foot. 
Sizes 6C/7C and 7.5C/8.5C are open on one side. A strap on top of the upper lets your little one try and put the boot on all on their own.

Why do these boots have large openings and straps on top?

Traction depends on the number and size of lugs (3 mm on this boot). The grip depends on the sole materials and the tread pattern, like car tires. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents slipping when going uphill, and stabilizes the boots.
Grip prevents the boots from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in difficult conditions (rain, snow, ice).

What is the difference between traction and grip?

How do I preserve the technical components of my pants?

Ecozen plastic is not an insulating material. Use a specially designed insulating cover if you want to keep liquids cool in your bottle. You can put hot drinks in this bottle, but they will cool down quickly. Do not use for fatty substances such as dairy or oil. Do not put in the microwave or freezer.

We also incorporated a wadding lining and soft, warm fleece into these pants. The synthetic fleece is as warm and insulating as wool but more lightweight. Soft and comfortable, quick-drying and breathable. The fleece’s texture traps air to keep kids’ bodies warm with natural insulating power.

How do these pants keep my child warm?

These pants have wadding and a fleece lining. That means your child doesn’t need to wear tights with them, as this can make your child too hot.

Should my child wear tights under their pants?

We integrated gaiters at the cuffs to keep snow out. Plus, the elastic at the bottom of the gaiters goes around your child’s shoe or boot to ensure the pants do not ride up.

Do the pants have gaiters to keep snow out of my child’s boots?

These pants are designed with a waterproof outer fabric that keeps out water and wind (before washing: 5,000 mm/Schmerbers for the main component). To stay warm in winter, you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). 

How do these pants protect from outdoor conditions?

The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. 
This product has a waterproof fabric resistant to 5,000 mm or Schmerbers before washing. 

Are these pants 100% waterproof?

For comfort and peace of mind, the seams of these pants are waterproof. They are totally waterproof. The waterproofing is verified by conducting a test that replicates the conditions of a two-hour rain shower. 
Waterproof, heat-sealed strips ensure seams are watertight. Applied behind the seams, these heat-sealed strips make the pants waterproof by preventing water seepage.

What does “100% taped seams” mean?

In winter, protection from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind is important, because wind can significantly cool the body. 
The waterproof coating means these pants qualify as windproof.

Reinforced fabric inserts on the knees and seat let children freely explore the world. Abrasion and friction resistance tests on the various components ensure their effectiveness.
The Martindale test measures a fabric’s abrasion resistance. A machine rubs a sample of the fabric on a reference surface with a weight at the end.
