1 - The 900 Cross-Country Skin Skis—our top-of-the-range skin ski!
As a technically proficient, intensive cross-country skier, you know cross-country skiing is about cardio training and pushing your limits. This ski is for you: it’s the most powerful in our classic range. It requires minimal maintenance, since it has 100% mohair ski skins that provide excellent glide performance. This ski offers the best glide performance with the ideal combination of low weight, rigidity, and control of the camber.
2 - A special camber for a customized ski.
Cross-country skis have a camber that makes the ski springy and resists the downward force of the skier’s weight. To provide grip in classic cross-country skiing, the ski must bend under the skier’s weight so that the grip zone is in contact with the snow. However, the grip zone must not be in contact with the snow when gliding. It is important to choose the correct ski camber according to the skier’s weight and ability to obtain the right combination of grip and glide.
3 - Choosing the right size
Size is based on ability and weight. 900 Cross-Country Skin Skis: Medium camber: 55 kg to 65 kg (121 lb to 143 lb) = 188 cm 60 kg to 75 kg (132 lb to 165 lb) = 195 cm 65 kg to 80 kg (165 lb to 176 lb) = 202 cm Hard camber - 75 kg to 90 kg (165 lb to 198 lb) = 195 cm 80 kg to 95 kg (176 lb to 209 lb) to = 202 cm 90 kg to 110 kg (198 kg to 242 lb) = 207 cm If you’re between two sizes: For more comfort and manoeuvrable, choose the shorter size. For more intensive use, choose the larger size.
4 - Skin grip: simple!
Grip refers to the underside of the ski.It helps you avoid slipping while providing smooth glide performance.There are 3 grip systems: fish scales, grip wax, or skins. The 900 Cross-Country Skin Ski has a 100% mohair skin grip. The ski skins provide the same quality of grip as fish scale bases but do not make any noise and do not require waxing
5 - Xcelerator Pro 2.0 bindings—the technical bindings that help you develop!
All our skis are sold with Rottefella bindings that are compatible with the NNN, Prolink, and Turnamic standards. They are lightweight and offer an ideal foot position and optimal power transfer from the foot to the ski. The move system lets you move the binding without unstrapping. It delivers power and speed.
Changing your skins
If your ski touring skins are worn, you can order new ones and get them changed in store. Ski sizes 188 cm, 195 cm, 202 cm, and 207 cm => Product number 4229191.
6 - A sintered base for superior glide performance
The base is the part of the ski in contact with the snow. It is made of polyethylene (HDPE), which can be extruded or sintered during the manufacturing process. The base of the 900 Cross-Country Skate Ski is made of sintered HDPE, a high molecular weight plastic powder that is heated, compressed, and cut into a plate. This process produces a denser base and delivers superior glide and durability.
7 - Waxing, the key to durability
We recommend waxing the underside of new skis for optimal glide. Several consecutive waxes are best to build up a proper base. To keep skis in top performing condition, remember to wax them often! Check out tutorials on how to wax your skis on our Inovik YouTube channel.
Glossary = ski construction
