How much warmth do Makalu mittens offer?
The blend of 90% duck down and 10% feathers, with an 800 fill-power (IDFB standard), guarantees maximum warmth and a compact pack size for temperatures as low as -30°C. The box-stitch construction reduces thermal bridges and improves the distribution of the down, ensuring consistent insulation even in extreme conditions. Lastly, the brushed polyester lining further improves thermal comfort.
Are these mittens compact?
The 800 fill-power provides better insulation than the previous 660 fill-power model, for the same volume. Tested in accordance with the IDFB standard, it guarantees a down that is loftier, more insulating and has better performance, even in extreme conditions. So you can travel light without compromising on warmth.
How do you adjust Makalu mittens?
The quick-release fastening at the wrist and the adjustable elastic drawcord on the forearm ensure a precise and intuitive fit, even when wearing thick gloves. The long cuff with an adjustable tab reduces snow entry and retains warmth.
