A Decathlon innovation for learning without training wheels: Easy Switch
When teaching children to ride a bike, the balance bike stage is a great accelerator towards master balance! Our 2-in-1 innovation allows you to remove and install pedals in 10 seconds! At the beginning of the learning process, you can offer them the balance bike mode: they’ll learn about their new bike, braking, balance, etc. Then you can offer them the bike mode by mounting the pedals and cranks. No need for tools, let’s go!
Stop Easy innovation: a patented braking system designed for children
Our Stop Easy system makes braking easier and provides a comfortable grip. The brake lever is pressed parallel to the handlebars for greater movement. Whilst it is progressive, this innovative brake lever also provides 30% more braking power compared to a conventional brake lever. A Btwin innovation that both parents and children love.
Frame material and shape
We chose aluminum for this bike’s frame to keep it as light as possible. Challenge met! An added bonus for resistance: aluminum also protects against corrosion. The shape of the frame allows for a low straddling height, making it easy to get on and off the saddle without knocking yourself on the frame.
The bike that grows with your child!
The saddle height can be adjusted from 40.5 cm to 51.5 cm (16 to 20") using a BTR spanner (Allen 5), which corresponds with a height window of 20 cm (8") (90 cm to 110 cm / 2'11" to 3'7"). The handlebar is also adjustable by 4 cm (1.6″). Warning: Do not exceed the maximum recommended height on the seat tube and handlebar (marking engraved on the stems)
Training wheel information
Can you add training wheels? Yes, if your child needs them. Our 14" Btwin training wheels are compatible with all our bikes of this size. (to install them, you’ll need a size 5 Allen key, not included) It’s good to know that according to several studies, apprentice cyclists will more easily and quickly switch to a bicycle if they master balance in balance bike mode (without pedals).
Wheel/tire info
These tires are equipped with an inner tube (inflatable). Their shape and pattern give them good efficiency without sacrificing grip on everyday surfaces (roads, paths, lawns, etc.).
Housing information
To prevent children from putting their fingers where they shouldn’t, the mechanical elements of the drive train (crank, chain, freewheel, etc.) are surrounded by a guard. It also prevents laces from getting caught and clothes from getting dirty. The rear of the housing can be easily removed for repairs or re-tensioning the chain! Housing material: Plastic.
Accessory information
What accessories come with the bike? A bell, this bike has wheel reflectors (reflective plates attached to the spokes), and pedal reflectors. A kickstand has also been pre-equipped on the bike

Design
What inspired this design? For the Nature version, our designer chose a colour that plunges us into the world of fauna and flora. The graphics leave plenty up to your imagination. For the City model, they opted for a “chic” blue. The yellow elements represent the key functions for learning to ride a bike with ease: brake lever and removable pedals. Specially designed by our B’Twin team of designers and engineers.
Position and comfort specially designed for children
The bike is specially adapted for children: the handlebar width and grip diameter are designed for their small hands. The foam saddle ensures a comfortable seat, and the position on this bike is ideal for them to have good visibility and control of their routes.
