How is usage temperature measured?
Thermal tests are carried out based on skin temperature measured from the finger and capture the wearer’s thermal comfort depending on the glove worn and the outdoor temperature. This is based on skiing and hiking activity. The temperature range is calculated to provide 70% of users with thermal comfort.
How to effectively protect your hands from the cold
In the same way that wearing several layers of clothing keeps you warm when hiking, you can wear liner gloves under your gloves that will act as a thermal base layer. This multi-layer system enables several layers of air to form around your hands, efficiently insulating them from the cold. Remember to wear large enough gloves so your fingers do not become constricted. Compression reduces blood circulation and can make your hands colder.
What is water repellency and how can you maintain it?
Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light, breathable, and warm. Water repellency is achieved by treating the outer surface. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the product’s lifetime (preferably with every wash). Products for this purpose (spray or liquid) are available in our stores.
