Why do my swimming goggles fog up?
Fogging is mainly due to the temperature difference between the body and the water. The heat and moisture from your face create condensation inside the lenses, forming tiny drops that blur your vision. A good anti-fog treatment changes how these drops behave: instead of staying separate, they merge to form a thin film of water, keeping your vision clear.
The anti-fog treatment
The anti-fog treatment creates a microscopic film of water to allow clear vision, but its wear is accelerated by rubbing inside the lenses or overexposure to chlorinated water. Taking care of the inside of your goggles is essential. Over time, it is normal for the anti-fog effect to diminish. Briefly soaking the goggles in water may help in the short term, but can also accelerate the wear of the treatment. Our anti-fog marker reactivates the treatment!
Size: How to choose your swimming goggles
Specially designed for kids. Their watertightness depends on how well the silicone skirts match the shape of your face. Before buying your goggles, we recommend that you carry out the “suction cup” test without the elastic band. Position the goggles over your eyes; if they hold on by themselves with a little suction, they will be watertight once in the water. This test also helps spot any areas that feel uncomfortable on your face.
How to properly adjust your swimming goggles
These swimming goggles fit the shape of your face without needing to be overly adjusted. Over-tightening can cause discomfort, leave marks, and even let water in. It's not necessary to press against the lenses with your hands, a light suction effect is usually enough for swimming sessions without water inlet holes. The straps ideally should rest 2–3 cm (0.8–1.2 in) above your ears for best comfort.
UV Protection
All our swimming goggles protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays under normal use, regardless of lens tint. Looking directly at the sun is dangerous and can cause permanent eye damage.
Care - Precautions
- Rinsing your goggles (only if necessary) by simply dipping them in water - Do not direct powerful jets of water at the inner surface of the lenses. - Storing the goggles in their case after each session to prevent damage to the lenses (on the inner surface to preserve the anti-fog coating and on the outer surface to prevent scratches) - Not exposing them to temperatures of over 60°C Finally, do not touch/rub the inside of your lenses
