Are my boots warm enough for winter hikes?
We perform comparative studies carried out in a thermal laboratory, in walking conditions with light winds (5 km/h or 3 mph). This is how we measure the thermal resistance of our boots. However, every individual feels the cold differently.Limit temperature: felt very cold and 10% of users consider the thermal sensation acceptable on their feet.
How do my boots protect me from outdoor conditions?
Your boots have a membrane to guarantee waterproofing and breathability. A membrane is a very fine component (5 to 25 micrometres) affixed to the inside of a fabric that prevents water from entering but allows moisture to escape.
How to care for nubuck leather boots
- Allow to dry away from a heat source. - On dry leather, brush with a stiff brush (horsehair and brass fibres) to remove mud and dirt. - Use a crepe brush or nubuck eraser to remove stains. For stubborn stains, clean with a brush and a little warm water and leave to dry. - Brush again with a stiff brush. - Spray a waterproofing product. This will give a shine to the leather and brighten up the colour.

Thermal comfort is a balance between warmth and breathability. Too much heat or not enough breathability lets moisture accumulate and cold set in. Designed with your activities in mind, this membrane prevents water infiltration on one side and lets moisture escape on the other.
Are my boots 100% waterproof?
We made sure that your boots are waterproof by conducting laboratory tests that simulate walking with the boots half-submerged in water. We also conducted field tests to measure wear and aging. We tested 3 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (approx. 4 km/2.5 mile walk), 4,000 flexes (approx. 8 km/5 mile walk) and 8,000 flexes (approx. 16 km/10 mile walk). This boot has been tested for up to 4,000 flexes, equivalent to an 8-km (5-mile) hike.
What is the difference between traction and grip?
The boot’s traction depends on the number and shape of the lugs. The grip depends on the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, like car tires. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents slipping when going uphill, and stabilizes the boot. Grip prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, and ice).
What are the advantages of Snow Contact technology?
The material and tread of Snow Contact soles are specifically designed for optimal grip and traction. Snow Contact soles are more effective on snow than traditional soles. When walking on ice, adding anti-slip grips to your boots is the only way to ensure optimum safety.
Will my boots withstand regular use in the long term?
This product was lab-tested by our engineers to ensure your total satisfaction. We tested the following elements: tear resistance of eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, and accelerated aging.
How do I choose the right footwear for hiking in the snow?
Follow these principles for your winter activities: Warmth: wear warm socks (ideally with a good percentage of wool). Breathability: choose socks based on the intensity of the hike and, to minimize moisture, make sure they’re breathable. Boot height: the height of the sock should correspond to the height of the boot—for more protection, choose higher socks.
How to preserve the technical qualities of the boots
Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the product’s lifetime. Products for this purpose (spray or liquid) are available in our stores.
How do I dry off my boots?
Boots can become heavy while they’re being worn when wet (through condensation and perspiration). If your boots are very wet, we advise you to remove the insole, fill the upper with balls of newspaper, and change them regularly. The paper will soak up the moisture and speed up the drying process. Never place your boots too close to a heat source. Leave them in a warm, dry, and ventilated place instead.
