Sometimes being bold means being different. At Van Rysel, we are driven by performance. That means keeping you warm without compromising performance. No compromise on warmth thanks to the thin, lightweight, and windproof Kima Toplight component. No compromise on breathability because of the highly breathable Matrix component used on the upper back and under the arms. No compromise on aerodynamics with its thin material, slim fit, and jacket’s “long tail”.
What is the Pro Fit design?
Pro Fit is a cycling garment design from Van Rysel. It’s made for high-performance cyclists who want cycling clothes that are close-fitting but not constricting. This jacket is designed to be worn over a technical base layer. If you plan on wearing it over two layers, we recommend buying one size larger than usual. The Pro Fit design is for those cycling regularly. If you think you might need a jacket with a looser fit, get one size larger than your usual.
Details that make the difference
This jacket stands out because of the attention given to every detail. - A flap for the lower zip so that it doesn’t damage your cycling shorts. - A flap for the top zip so that it doesn’t irritate your neck. - Soft sleeves with elasticated cuffs. - Small cords on the zips to make it easier to grab them when wearing gloves.
Plenty of pockets
This jacket has 7 pockets. Two small side pockets that can be used to carry your litter. A set of 5 back pockets include: - 2 pockets for snacks or small items. - 1 zip pocket for phone/key/card. - 1 net pocket for gloves, hat, or other accessories.

Which jacket should you choose, Racer or Racer Xtrem?
These two jackets are very different. The Racer weighs 340 g (12 oz), whereas the Racer Xtrem weighs 680 g (24 oz). The Racer is a close-fitting jacket that is very effective for riding in spring, autumn, or mild winter weather. But in temperatures below 7°C, it reaches its limits, and that is when we turn to the Racer Xtrem. It’s worth noting that these jackets are water-repellent, not waterproof. Take along an ultralight rain jacket if there is a chance of rain.
Care
In order to keep your jacket looking impeccable year after year, we recommend you machine wash it in a 30°C synthetic cycle. Close the zips before washing your jacket. Don’t tumble dry and don’t use fabric softener! Don’t dry clean it either. Hang dry in a well-ventilated area.
