Design details

How is the jacket’s waterproof rating measured?
We measure the resistance of a fabric to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (test based on JIS 1092B standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket has a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm and effectively protects its user from 4 hours of rain.
How is the jacket’s breathability measured?
To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). A lower evaporative resistance means more perspiration can escape, increasing the fabric’s breathability. Rating Scale: RET < 9 = highly breathable fabric 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric RET > 12 = low breathability In this case, the fabric of this jacket has a RET of 15.
What are the features of its 3D hood?
Compatible with a helmet, the pre-shaped hood is designed to follow your head’s movements without getting in the way. Its easy-to-use 3D tightening system lets you adjust it with a single movement. The high collar provides good face protection against the cold and wind, and the zip flap is micro-perforated to make the material more breathable.
Sleeve Features
The adjustable sleeves are wide enough to go over the gloves and protect you from the snow while keeping you warm and dry. Their elastane material ensures a perfect seal between the gloves and jacket.
Ventilation
Staying dry is essential for enjoying powdery snow: avoiding sweat build-up is key to prevent chills. The jacket has two large zip vents under the arms for ventilation and to prevent overheating.

What is the Recco® system?
All of our freeride ski pants are equipped with the RECCO® system. With Recco® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Thanks to the RECCO® reflectors, a buried person can quickly and easily be located with the RECCO® detector. Recco® reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. Recco® technology works as an additional safeguard, increasing the chances of being found in time.
Loose fit

What should you wear under your ski jacket?
To stay warm and dry, follow the 3-layer rule (a breathable first layer, a warm second layer, and a protective third layer). This jacket can be worn as a third layer to protect you from bad weather. For extra warmth, wear a warm layer underneath, like a padded jacket or a fleece.
Keeps snow out if you fall
The snow skirt at the waist prevents snow from getting in when you fall. It attaches to your pants using three loops with snaps.
What is fabric water repellency?
Water repellency is the ability to allow water to slide off a fabric’s surface without being absorbed. This means that the fabric does not soak up water, therefore, remaining lightweight, breathable, and warm. Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric, which must be renewed from time to time (every three washes) to ensure it remains effective. All Simond jackets have a fluorine-free water repellent treatment.
What is a membrane or coating?
The coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric, making it waterproof yet breathable. Less costly than a membrane, it requires a lining to protect it. A membrane, which is a very thin plastic film (polyurethane), makes the material waterproof yet breathable. It is more flexible, lighter, more durable, and often more breathable than a coating.
This product is repairable
This waterproof jacket can be repaired: - In the event of a snag, apply a patch suitable for waterproof surfaces. - A broken zip runner can be changed in just a few minutes. - The zip pull can be replaced quickly.
Waterproof Jacket Care
Machine wash the jacket at 30°C after closing the zips. Use a liquid detergent and do not use fabric softener. You can use a water-repellent spray once your jacket is completely dry.
