Design details

What’s the background to its development?
Entirely designed at Simond’s R&D centre in the heart of the Chamonix Valley, together with passionate hikers with exacting standards. A key requirement was that this product could be fully dismantled as well as repaired for long-lasting use. This pole is patented for its ability to be fully dismantled so the parts can be changed.
Why have we specifically worked on the strength of these poles?
You’re setting off on a multi-day hike to enjoy open spaces, out on your own, and sometimes far from civilization. The segments are made from 100% carbon fibre to make them lighter and more durable. The lower segment is made from aluminum to make it more shock-proof on technical terrains.
Why is compactness a key element?
A trek is a great adventure that unfolds over different types of terrain. This model folds down into five segments—ideal for getting out or storing your poles quickly. Once folded, these poles easily fit into the side pocket of your backpack (36.5 cm/14”).
How was the handle of this ultralight pole developed?
This pole has an EVA foam handle that’s highly durable and ideal for managing body moisture. The grip extension under the handle offers an unparalleled level of comfort on steep climbs and slopes. The pommel also offers very good grip from above and incorporates a plastic ring under the foam to prevent any deformation.
How to adjust your poles to the correct length
Extend the pole until the pushpin clicks. To adjust the length: the forearm holding the pole should be bent at 90°. Open the outer lever and then slide the tube to the desired length. Close the lever again and ensure you never go past the “Stop” line to avoid breaking the pole.
What are this pole’s technical characteristics?
The focus was placed on the detail in developing this pole. - The wrist strap is removable; you can slide the cord to unlock it. - The push-pin system has also been reworked: more ergonomic, making it easier to handle and prevent pinching your fingers. - The cord used to lock the pole is made of Dyneema for greater durability.
Which accessories suitable for use with this pole model are sold separately?
At Simond, the accessorization and compatibility of our products are key. You can pair this hiking pole with a wide range of accessories and replacement parts. Summer Baskets: 8737774 Winter Baskets: 8503857
Which parts of this pole are repairable?
This pole can be fully dismantled to make it easier to replace worn or damaged parts.
