How to choose a wetsuit Part 1
The first factor to consider when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies depending on the location and time of year. Keep these guidelines in mind: Water at 21°C. Water between 17 and 22°C. Water between 12 and 17°C. Water between 7 and 12°C. Visit seatemperature.org to check sea temperatures around the world.
How to choose a wetsuit Part 2
The second thing to consider is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models are suitable. Up to 2 hours: opt for the 500 models and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models. Wetsuits with a higher model number are warmer, more watertight, and better at reducing irritation and fatigue. The same is true for the 900 models, compared with the 500 models. Note: the 100 and 500 models are easier to put on.
Choosing a size
To get the most out of your wetsuit, it’s important to choose the right size. A surfing wetsuit should be a tight fit and there should be no visible folds. It’s normal for the suit to feel too tight when dry; this discomfort will disappear once you’re in the water. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will develop and may cause irritation. Try on your surfing wetsuit before you buy!
Materials
This 2/2 surfing wetsuit 100 is made from natural rubber. The component is lined with synthetic fabric for added abrasion resistance. The component is 2 mm thick for a good balance between warmth and stretch. The component is made from a foam with insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our materials.
Neck
The neck is designed to limit irritation. If you have sensitive skin, consider wearing a UV-resistant top under the wetsuit to reduce rubbing and chafing. To prevent chafing during longer outings, we recommend applying petroleum jelly around your neck and underarms. Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.
Fasteners
Our zips and fastenings are lab-tested for guaranteed durability and resistance to salt water. The zip is at the back of the wetsuit for greater comfort when lying down to paddle.
Anti-chafing design
We designed this surfing wetsuit with seamless panels under the arms to reduce irritation from the repetitive paddling movements associated with surf sports.
Multi-water sports wetsuit
Our wetsuits are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. They’re also compatible with many other water sports, including swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding.
