Waterproof (10,000 mm Schmerbers) and tested in real-life conditions.
The waterproof fabric and construction prevent water from getting in. All seams are fully sealed, and the zips are waterproof and protected by a flap. This jacket has been tested both in a special shower simulating ski-resort conditions and outdoors over several days in different weather conditions.
Water-repellent suit, like all Quechua/Wedze ski and snowboard suits.
A fabric’s water-repellent property is its ability to let water bead off its surface without soaking in. If the fabric doesn’t soak up water, it remains lightweight, breathable, and warm. The water-repellent finish applied to the outside of the fabric must be renewed regularly (every three washes).
A warm suit without compromising on breathability.
The suit is padded at 60 g/sqm on the legs and arms, 100 g/sqm on the chest: just enough to keep you warm without being too thick.
Breathable fabric and ventilation
This jacket has a RET (evaporative resistance) score of 12 measured according to the ISO 11092 standard. The lower the RET number, the more easily water vapour escapes. RET < 9 = extremely breathable 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable 12 < RET < 20 = breathable RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
The 500 ski suit is made with a lined fabric.
This jacket uses a very thin polyurethane film to make the fabric waterproof while maintaining breathability. This film is more flexible, lighter, more durable, and often more breathable than a traditional coating. By contrast, a traditional coating is less expensive but requires a protective lining similar to a paint layer applied to the inside of the fabric.
Repairable
During the warranty period, we repair your product for free (tears, seams, zips, etc.). These solutions are available at your nearest shop. If, however, we’re unable to repair your product (unrepairable product defect), you can exchange it or get a refund.
Weight
1.26 kg (2.7 lb) in UK size 8 to 1.42 kg (3.1 lb) in UK size 20. 1.32 kg (2.9 lb) in UK size 12.
What to wear under ski pants
You don’t need to wear anything under these padded pants. However, in very cold weather, you can wear a breathable thermal base layer (known as a layer 1).
Water repellency restoration
The water repellency of your pants should be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though they remain waterproof thanks to the fabric used, they seem to start absorbing water. To restore water repellency, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product.
Wash and/or dry your ski pants: following a specific protocol, you can improve its lifespan.
Close all zips, loosen any ties, and read the instructions on the label. You can use a tumble dryer or let the jacket air-dry. To finish, use a hair dryer for five minutes to reactivate the waterproofing treatment.
