Design details

How is the waterproofing level measured?
We measure the resistance of a fabric to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (test based on JIS 1092B standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. These pants have a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm Schmerbers and effectively protect their user from four hours of rain.
How is breathability measured?
To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). A lower evaporative resistance means more perspiration can escape, increasing the fabric’s breathability. Rating Scale: RET < 9 = highly breathable fabric. 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric. RET > 12 = low breathability. The fabric of these pants has a RET of 15.
Ski Pants Features
- A large side zip offers a wide opening at the back to make it easier to use the toilet without having to take them off completely. - Ultra-durable reinforcements reduce edge cuts. - Adjustable straps provide very good support. - A stretch component around the stomach to reduce the need for overlapping belts.
Pockets
2 secure pockets on the thighs with waterproof zips, including one with a mesh pocket for a mobile phone. A large front pocket that can hold an ARB.
Freedom of Movement
These pants are designed in two fabrics, which offer high resistance to wear without compromising on freedom of movement. The stretch fabric on the stomach section provides excellent fluidity while limiting belt overlapping at the waist (underwear, pants, snow skirt, etc.). Preformed knees allow you to move freely.
What is the Recco® system?
All of our cross-country ski jackets and pants are equipped with the Recco® system. With Recco® technology, you can be found in the event of an avalanche. Thanks to the Recco® reflectors, a buried person can quickly and easily be located with the Recco® detector. Recco® reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche rescue beacon. Recco® technology works as an additional safeguard, increasing the chances of being found in time.
What is fabric water repellency?
Water repellency is the ability to allow water to slide off the surface of the fabric without being absorbed. This means that the fabric does not soak up water, and therefore remains lightweight, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment to the outer surface of the fabric, which must be renewed from time to time (every three washes) to ensure it remains effective. All of our Freeride ski jackets have a water-repellent treatment without fluorine.
What is a membrane or coating?
The coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric, making it waterproof yet breathable. Less costly than a membrane, it requires a lining to protect it. A membrane, which is a very thin plastic film (polyurethane), makes the material waterproof yet breathable. It is more flexible, lighter, more durable, and often more breathable than a coating.
What to wear under ski pants
To keep warm and dry in the event of intense cold, wear a ski base layer that is comfortable and breathable. Our FR 900 base layer pants are perfect for keeping in warmth.
Care
Machine wash the pants at 30°C after closing the zips. Use a liquid detergent and no fabric softener.
