Size and living space

Architecture, tent poles, and tent pegs.
Lightweight, shock-resistant and frost-resistant aluminum pole: 7001 T6 Yunan SD70PF Ø 8.3 mm aluminum. Optimized square tent pegs: anvil head, oversized main part, extremely resistant, and lightweight (7075 T6 aluminum). Non-anodized for a lower environmental impact. Simple Y-shaped dome: the main pole splits into 3, creating a semi-freestanding structure. The top pole provides volume, increasing capacity.
Pitching and taking down
Separate flysheet and bedroom. Traditional pitching method: bedroom on the ground, clipped to the poles. Cover the whole tent with the flysheet. Adjust the tautness. If needed, the bedroom can be dismantled from inside. Colour coding on the pole, bedroom, and flysheet for easy pitching. To pitch the flysheet first when it rains, you will need the compatible groundsheet (product ref. 8545723).
Waterproofing
Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/m²/hour (3 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group. 20 denier polyester (PES) flysheet and 40D polyamide (PA) groundsheet have a polyurethane (inside) and silicone (exterior) coating. Seams taped with heat-sealed strips. Multi-component bedroom is breathable, protects from the wind, and prevents condensation.
Wind resistance
All our tents are tested in a wind tunnel on a rotating plate to expose them on all sides. To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy lines in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 60 km/h, measured near ground level. Our tents are certified by the CSTB independent laboratory in Nantes, France.
Ventilation and condensation
Bedroom with mosquito screen for ventilation and water-repellent fabric to protect from condensation and drafts. The two large top ventilation areas close using a hook and loop strip. The tent must be properly pitched and the fabric taut but not overstretched to reduce condensation inside. Doors equipped with two-way zippers. Ventilation and proper air circulation limit humidity inside your tent.
Seasons
Three-season tent: your tent will protect you from the harsh weather conditions you may encounter in the spring, summer, or fall. It will withstand light snowfall but is not designed to withstand heavy snow that would weigh down the structure. In the event of snow, shake your tent regularly to remove any snow that has accumulated and avoid putting too much weight on the structure of your tent.
Environmental approach

Durability
This tent is designed for itinerant bivouacking, not for static use in the sun. Avoid leaving it in the sun to prevent UV light from damaging its ultra-light fabrics.
