How waterproof are these ski and snowboard pants?
The Pant 500 pad pants are highly waterproof (15,000 mm Schmerbers) and have been tested in real-life conditions. The waterproof component and the assembly keep water out, with taped seams and zippers that are either waterproof or covered by a protective flap. This jacket has been tested both in a special shower simulating ski-resort conditions and outdoors over several days in different weather conditions.
Are these pants water-repellent?
Like all Quechua ski and snowboard pants, the 500 Pad are water-repellent. A fabric’s water-repellent property is its ability to let water bead off its surface without soaking in. By not soaking up water, the fabric remains lightweight, breathable, and warm. The water-repellent finish on the fabric exterior must be renewed regularly (every 3 washes).
Are these ski and snowboard pants warm?
With 60 g/m² fill, these pants will keep you warm down to -5°C during moderate activity. The gaiters at the bottom of the legs prevent air—and therefore cold—from entering.
Are these ski and snowboard pants breathable?
RET (evaporative resistance) score of 12 measured according to ISO 11092 standard. The lower the RET number, the more easily water vapour escapes. RET < 9: extremely breathable. 9 < RET < 12: very breathable. 12 < RET < 20: breathable. RET > 20: little or no breathability.
Are these ski and snowboard pants repairable?
At warranty period end (2 years), your product will still be repairable (seams, zippers, etc.). During the warranty period, we will carry out repairs free of charge. Solutions are available at your nearest store.

What to wear under ski pants
You don’t need to wear anything under these padded pants. However, in very cold weather, you can wear a breathable thermal base layer (known as layer 1).
Water repellency restoration
The water repellency of your pants should be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though they remain waterproof thanks to the component, they seem to start absorbing water. To restore repellency, use a reactivating spray or treatment reapplication product, and follow our website tutorial (customer service section).
How should I wash and dry my ski and snowboard pants?
Close all zippers, loosen any ties, and read label instructions. You can use a tumble dryer or let jacket air-dry. To finish, use a hair dryer for five minutes to reactivate the waterproofing treatment. Find tutorials on our YouTube channel or our after-sales service website.
