What size SNB 100 board should I choose?
In general, for all-terrain use or when learning how to snowboard, choose a size 15–20 cm shorter than your height (e.g., someone who is 1.66 m tall should choose a board between 146 cm and 151 cm in length). Shorter boards are easier to control. Also advised for people who are light for their height. A bigger board will be more stable at high speed. 142 cm (30–60 kg) =>from 1m56 to 1m63 147 cm (40–70 kg) =>from 1m62 to 1m69 152 cm (50–80 kg) =>from 1m67 to 1m74
A word from the product manager
The SNB 100 Snowboard is the easiest board to ride in the women’s range. This board is for learning how to snowboard. It is easy to ride and forgiving of mistakes when learning freestyle.
Activity/terrain
The SNB 100 Snowboard offers beginner boarders a lot of leeway for mistakes. On piste, it’s easy to turn on all types of snow and offers reassuring grip on hard snow. Its flat camber and large rockers are ideal for freestyle newbies. Want an affordable board for jibbing? Its flexibility will give you complete satisfaction anywhere you use it.
Twin tip directional snowboard
The snowboard has a twin tip shape: The board’s sidecuts are balanced from front to rear for perfect symmetry and centring when riding in both directions. For greater versatility, the 20 mm inserts are offset, making the SNB 100 Snowboard a “false” twin tip. It's directional enough for learning how to snowboard more easily.
Flat camber + long rocker
A flat camber is the best compromise between the traditional camber that brings grip and dynamism and a reverse camber that provides manoeuvrability in rotation but little grip. Why it's perfect for park freestylers and beginners: - flat camber provides stability on modules and on the slopes - rocker makes it more forgiving in parks and on the slopes, as the board's four corners don’t touch the snow when the board is flat
Slight flex (3/10)
Flex is the board's stiffness between the front and rear. The flex of this snowboard is around 3/10, making it very tolerant and lively. This is a very consistent type of flex from the front shovel (nose) to the rear shovel (tail), making it reliable and predictable in turns. However, at high speeds or on frozen snow, this board will not carve out turns as well and will have less pop compared to an Endzone 500 Snowboard.
Soft and forgiving torsion
The SNB 100 Snowboard has a torsional flex (board stiffness between the feet) of about 2/10, making the board easy to handle and pivot, and more forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion provides freedom for the feet. It’s ideal at the beginner level: forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion also suitable for freestyle, jib, or flat use. Perfect for shredding!
20 mm setback
The setback is when the board’s compression points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board but set back toward the rear. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. 20 mm setback: with its very slight setback, this all-around board is almost centred for riding in both directions but also provides balance in turns and rotations.
When should you wax your snowboard?
Dreamscape boards come pre-waxed. Like all snowboards and skis, they require regular maintenance: ideally, wax every 5 outings and at least once a year: - at the beginning of the season to start with an optimal glide - at the end of the season so that the wax protects the base all summer long
Glide quality: extruded base
The bases are made from polyethylene using 2 different processes: - extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene - sintered base, with a greater density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) An extruded base provides a normal glide and good resistance over time.
What is the Wide version snowboard?
A "wide" board is wider than normal to prevent larger feet from touching the snow when turning (making you fall), or to increase buoyancy on powder. Board width is measured at the board's centre. Decathlon definitions: - up to 245 mm: narrow board/men’s shoe size 4–7.5 - from 246 mm to 255 mm: normal board/men’s shoe size 6–9 - 256 to 265 mm: midwide/men’s shoe size 8–10.5 - from 266 mm: wide/men’s shoe size 9.5–14.5
Can the store mount my board bindings for me?
Yes. See the set-up support video on the product page, or ask your store to fit your bindings according to your personal preferences.Remember to take your snowboard boots with you for 2 adjustments: 1. The front/back of the binding so that boot toes or heels don’t stick out on one side more than the other 2. Your binding straps, which should be properly adjusted for your boots.
