It seems the cathlon does not want people reading about their products being less than functional. This device even with a brand new battery simply will not stay connected. I tried with two different pixels 7 phones, I tried with a pixel 5, an iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 and a Sam
sung s20. All failed. It can't stay connected for a full 5K run. I ended up pulling it off my chest in the middle of my run because I was frustrated with the lost connection, connection reestablish, lost connection, connection reestablished consistently talking in my ear over my music.

Awesome heart rate tracker, very accurate. I just connect it to my phone via Bluetooth, then use Strava to track my heart rate throughout the whole run. This is way more accurate than using a smartwatch.

After garmin straps failing numerous times, I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and comfort of this HR strap. Def a brand that easily takes on the more established brands and will continue to grow.

Ok as a basic monitor but unreliable.

I started cycling a year ago and one of my first purchases was this heart monitor. Provided you wet the straps it seems reasonably accurate, perhaps a tendency to over read for lower pulse rates (my resting heart rate is around 60 but this always reads 80ish), seems ok for hig
her heart rate zones. Two issues that result in the two star review and mean I have now purchased a garmin sensor. Firstly it won’t link at all to Strava via your mobile phone. Not an issue now I have a bike computer but if you are starting out and planning to use your phone to log rides then don’t rely on this monitor to work. Secondly, and the main reason, for me changing, is that it just isn’t that reliable. Probably 90% of rides it connects fine and logs the whole activity but occasionally it won’t pair or just drops out into a ride. Usually taking the battery out sorts things out but a real pain half way through a ride. It also seems to munch through batteries. I have to change maybe every 4-6 weeks. Friends with other brands say they haven’t changed a battery in over a year! So there you go. Does it work? Yes. Is it accurate? Reasonably so. Does it work consistently? No.
