This garment was validated in a shower test under 60 L of water/m²/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces average rain shower conditions in the mountains.
A component with a 2000 mm waterproof rating resists the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water (which roughly corresponds to a 2-hour downpour).
The waterproof rating is expressed in Schmerber units (for example: 2000 Schmerber).
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance, or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more moisture generated by physical activity is able to escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric / 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
Can be stored in its pocket. Central zipper opening, hood, elastic wrists, and waistband
Abrasion and friction resistance test: for example, we carry out lab tests to check that fleeces do not pill. Colour fastness test: we check colour fastness to ensure colours don't bleed if they come into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing must not alter the fabric's original properties, including its shape, thickness, or appearance.
1/ Machine wash (30 to 40°C): close velcro fastenings, gentle detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment excessively in the machine: this can damage it. 3/ Do not mix different types of clothes or colours. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Rinse thoroughly followed by a gentle spin cycle. 6/ Hang dry or run it through the drier (minimum temperature, minimum duration). Our products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of our products is calculated over the product's life cycle using a variety of indicators. An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life.
Decathlon displays this information voluntarily to help you identify products with lower environmental impact.
