Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. The garment should be retreated over its lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products for this purpose (spray and liquid) are available in our stores.

What is water repellency and how can you maintain it?

The inside fabric is brushed, a tried-and-tested method for retaining heat. The principle is simple: the component’s knit adds volume to trap air, offering natural insulation. This is exactly the same principle as animal fur and feathers.

Are my pants warm enough for winter hikes?

Thermal comfort is a balance between warmth and breathability. If moisture accumulates, you will feel the cold when you’re less active.We designed these pants specifically for your occasional, intense physical activities by adding a ventilation system in a micro-perforated fabric with side zippers at the thighs. We test for durability: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colourfastness, and resistance to repeated washing. All these tests were conducted on the material used in these pants.
