Camping Sleeping Pad - MT 500 Grey

Might have saved my life. Had my "main" pad spring a leak and woke up with a thin memory of an "R5.4" pad which likely wasn't insulating enough to keep me warm. I had just bought this pad and had it as an extra layer. Kept me reasonably comfortable and had no issues with cold

. Under me there was my mostly deflated pad, this pad, and a reflective tarp. Lowest temp we saw was probably -15C, not sure how cold the ground was though. This pad will be coming on every trip now. The included elastic straps are very poorly made with a single stitch line and frayed edges, feels like the elastic is nearly worn out already.

Works well

Easy to use and transport. Doubled as a seat cushion on long hikes, but used mainly as a Sleeping Mat under my Sleeping Pad. Did an excellent job on my back country camping trips in Ontario.

Got this to use in conjunction with my inflatable sleeping pad to both boost it's thermal rating for winter camping and also provide some protection against punctures. It does both brilliantly. Also as the R value of this foam pad is 2.2, you can fold it in half to get an R v

alue of 4.4 and still lie with the insulation under most of your body if you used only this mat on a particularly cold night. I've recommended it to many friends who camp in the colder seasons as a cheap addition to their kit.

My son was v pleased with this mat. It is not super super comfy but at the same time it is quite lightweight and not too bulky for carrying so you have to strike a balance.

Bought this years ago and still going strong. Light, comfortable and warm.

For the price you cant go wrong, perfect for winter, place on the bottom then an inflatable sleep mat on top and the cold will not come through. It is is chunky but so are all winter mats with the same R value.

I wanted a light weight, and waterproof sleeping mat to carry,whilst out walking with groups, to use as an insulation mat in case of injury or under a group shelter. This folding mat is perfect, it fits under my rucksack. Super light weight.

Excellent second layer for sleeping. I could use this as a mat on its own, say for instance, my sleeping mat deflates, then I always have this. Well made, weighs nothing and straps onto my backpack with ease. If you want to boost the thermal properties of your expensive ! Sl

This is a decent and robust mat, with a good R value.. Suitable for using on it own in summer, or putting under your inflatable mat in winter as a boost to your sleep system. I'm very happy with my purchase
