I wasn't going to write a review but saw others say the same so thought I'd give my two cents. I wouldn't bother with these at all. They are the cheapest shoes you will find for a reason, honestly just bite the bullet and invest in better. The grip is awful. The sole is eve

n slippery to the touch. I slipped off of a hold and broke and dislocated my leg needing surgery. This was within 2 weeks of upgrading from rentals. When I eventually returned to climbing, I spent just an extra £10 investing in a decent pair! I am not blaming the shoe, nor the brand, just anecdotally highlighting the lack of grip in this particular shoe. It is incredibly hard to place any trust in them. On the positive side, it's a good introduction to getting a feel for how a climbing shoe fits your foot. If you must buy, I would just be extremely careful with footwork, therefore only using at a very beginner level (just to note, I was not using these at an extreme level). Or spend the extra (it's not so much, really) money investing in another shoe from the simmond range, which I'm sure perform better.

Comfortable but unfortunately the grip is bad and it keeps slipping off holds when climbing. I am finding this dangerous and it is stopping me from progressing

I have been a big fun of Decathloms climbing shoes line especially ones described as for beginners. Otherwise, those for beginners like Rock is one of the best shoes I have ever had (I often have used La sportive, 5-10, scalpa’s high end shoes) Rock has been good with 1.0 size

down from street shoe size. This First klimb has narrower shape than Rock and seems tighter. I purchased it in 41 as my street shoe size is 42.5-43. Took few hours to get it break in then a great shoes for the price even lower than Rock’s. Slightly downturn and asymmetric, rubber sticks better than Rock, I could do v4-6 indoor gym with the shoes. I like high end/brand shoes design but after trying this First klimb and Rock, I doubt cost efficient of those ones. (Well, to support climbing culture and industry, yes. Thought the industry has been more capitalistic and consumeristic following by the trend imo). Ultimately, 1.0-1.5 size down for performance snug fit, also the same or minimum size down like -0.5 for beginner or comfort fit, that will cover all need for your climbing. (May not for above v7/8 but enough for v5-6. I would like to know how too climbers climb in these shoes). Highly recommended.
