This saddle pad has a cut-away style with a mesh panel along the spine. It is wider at the withers to limit pressure in this sensitive area, which helps encourage the horse to relax.

Type of Noseband

The 580 bridle combines comfort, style, and equestrian tradition. It was designed with subtle lines and practical details. Made entirely of leather, this bridle elegantly showcases your horse’s head. The bridle 580 is available in 3 versions: a topstitched leather version, a leather version with shiny edging, and a rhinestone version with a wide noseband.

The lower part of the head piece is pre-formed to free the back of the ears, a very sensitive area; it helps relax the horse's mouth. Similarly, the brow band was designed with small fittings on the lower part of the head piece, avoiding pressure on the top of the brow and temples.

High-pressure areas, including the neck, browband, and noseband, are lined with soft foam padding for the horse’s comfort. 

Reduced chafing

This bridle was designed with the 580 reins, which have large grip dots. They have matching details and come in the same range of colours. If you want thinner, more flexible reins with smaller grip dots, the 900 model is also compatible with our 580 bridle. Bridle sold without reins.

Compatible reins

The 580 bridle comes in 2 sizes: Pony (CS) and horse (FS). CS is suitable for small-headed horses and section D ponies. FS is suitable for most saddle horses. Each size can be adjusted, making it possible to accommodate a range of medium to large horses. The brown topstitched bridle 580 is also available in PS sizes for large section B, section C, and small section D ponies.

Sizing

Slider buckles allow for easy adjustment. The snap hook on the throatlatch lets you quickly tether your horse.

Adjustments

Check that your bridle is properly fitted in a few simple steps. Make sure you can slip a finger between the horse’s face and browband, and between the headpiece and the back of the ears.  The straps shouldn’t feel tight or be pressing on sensitive areas. The first few times you use the bridle, remember to check for signs of chafing.

How you adjust the noseband strongly affects how relaxed your horse will be. Slip a finger between the horse's face and the noseband, and 2 fingers between the noseband and the cheeks. If any doubts about adjusting it, seek professional help. The noseband is not always necessary; it depends on the horse's needs. The noseband on the bridle 580 is easily removed without empty loops showing.

Fitting the noseband

Clean regularly with glycerine soap and lukewarm water. Moisturize the leather by applying grease with a cloth. If it starts to feel rough or dry, you can also apply a hydrating conditioner.

Polypropylene lining prevents stretching and keeps the straps even.

Adjustable

Chrome-tanned leather requires regular maintenance with glycerin soap.

The 580 bridle is designed to meet the needs of as many riders as possible and has a few tricks up its sleeve. Thanks to its roller buckles, it is very fast to adjust. The carabiner on the throatlash saves time while the cheekpieces come in different sizes so it's easy to put on and take off! Adjust your tack quickly so you can spend more time with your horse.

The 580 bridle has been designed to easily and naturally adapt to fit your horse's head, no matter the model or size chosen. The ergonomic headpiece hugs its neck and put less pressure on it. The D-shaped buckles let the noseband adapt to your horse's head and won't pull on the bridle's cheekpieces. And because every horse is different, the V-shaped brow band keeps them comfortable no matter their head shape.

Aesthetics:

The 580 bridle is made mainly from premium quality buffalo leather, which is very durable and easy to clean. To take care of your equipment, clean it regularly with glycerin soap and remember to rub in a bit of leather balm from time to time!

Easy care:

For a well-adjusted bridle, the bit should be in contact with the corners of the horse's mouth without pressing against them. The two cheekpieces should be adjusted symmetrically and the throatlash should not press the horse's throat: you should be able to slip your hand between the throat and the bridle. If you're uncertain about anything, ask your coach for help!

How to adjust your bridle:

The noseband can be adjusted in different ways depending on your horse's temperament, how sensitive its mouth is, and how steady your hand is. In all cases, this part of the bridle should be adapted to your horse's body shape so that it can maintain a relaxed position as it works. If you have any doubts about how to adjust it, seek professional help. A flash is not always necessary and the one on the 580 can easily be removed.

The 580 bridle comes in three sizes*: 
PS (pony: less than 13.5 hh), CS (small horse: 13.5 to 15.5 hh) and FS (horse: more than 15.5 hh). 

*These heights at the withers are an indication only and can vary depending on the breed and body shape of each horse.
